Founders’ Day Challenge a huge success!

Nov 18, 2021 – The Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation hosted our first Founders’ Day Challenge (FDC) on November 7 and 8.

The first FDC was a success, bringing in a little over $107,000 from more than 800 donors! Deltasig alumni, collegiate brothers, parents and friends came together to surpass the goal of $50,000 set by the Leadership Foundation. Upon meeting this goal on the first day, the goal was raised twice more, landing on a final goal of raising $85,000.

The purpose of the campaign was to raise money for Chapter Leadership Funds (CLFs) and the Annual Fund. Donations made directly to a Chapter Leadership Fund can be used by the chapter to help pay for registration, travel and lodging expenses to attend educational and leadership development programs, such as Presidents’ Academy, LEAD Provincial Conferences, LEAD Schools and Grand Chapter Congress. Gifts made to the Deltasig Annual Fund are unrestricted gifts that allow the Foundation the flexibility to fund educational programs and initiatives that support the mission of the Fraternity

According to Leadership Foundation President Randy Hultz, “The Founders’ Day Challenge provided an opportunity for brothers from across the Fraternity to tap into their personal networks for a great cause and have fun at the same time.  To say the results exceeded all expectations is truly an understatement! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated!”

To incentivize donations to certain chapters and throughout the campaign, numerous alumni donated a total of $20,000 that were used as challenges and matches. The campaign generated a tremendous amount of support from many Deltasig alumni and volunteer leaders. In addition, prior to the start of the campaign, over 40 individuals agreed to serve as fundraising Ambassadors. Nearly 400 individuals and teams set up donation pages and 66 teams were organized.

Thanks to a generous donor, a $500 CLF donation was made available as an incentive to each of the top six fundraising chapters. We are proud to congratulate the following chapters on this achievement:

TIER 1:

Iota Nu (Truman State (MO))

Mu Pi (Penn State-Erie)

TIER 2:

Alpha Omega (DePaul (IL))

Epsilon Rho (Tampa (FL))

TIER 3:

Gamma Psi (Arizona)

Alpha Upsilon (Miami-Ohio)

Founders’ Day is one of Delta Sigma Pi’s most enduring traditions, so it is not surprising the support for the nationwide giving event was a record setting event for the Fraternity. We can't wait to see what the Deltasig community will achieve next year!
