Founders' Day Challenge FAQ

• What is the Founders’ Day Challenge?

  The Founders’ Day Challenge fundraising campaign begins at 12:01 a.m. November 6 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (EST) November 7. The purpose of the Founders’ Day Challenge is to celebrate Founders’ Day while supporting the heart of Delta Sigma Pi--our collegiate chapters--by collecting gifts from brothers, friends and family for each Chapter’s Leadership Fund, or your choice of funds.
  

• What is a Chapter Leadership Fund?

  Chapter Leadership Funds (CLFs) are chapter-specific accounts within the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation created to receive charitable gifts restricted to each Delta Sigma Pi chapter. Collegiate chapters can request grants to defray the direct costs related to attending Fraternity events (LEAD Provincial Conferences, LEAD Summits, Grand Chapter Congress and Presidents' Academy) or to help cover the cost associated with hosting educational or leadership development speakers.
  

• What if my chapter is closed, can I give to another chapter?

  Absolutely! You can support any chapter(s) of your choosing or give to the Deltasig Fund or any of our nearly 80 endowments supporting education, programs, scholarships and more.
  

• If I want my donation to go to Delta Sigma Pi's greatest needs, can I just donate to the Deltasig Fund and not a Chapter Leadership Fund?

  Yes! Just choose “Deltasig Fund” under "I would like my gift to support the following fund".
  

• Do I have to give online or can I mail a check to Central Office?

  You can make a donation online using the Founders’ Day Challenge platform (dsp.org/fdc) or you can mail your Founders’ Day donation to the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation at 330 South Campus Avenue, Oxford, OH 45056. Please contact foundation@dsp.org with questions, and if mailing a check or making an ACH or stock transfer, please contact foundation@dsp.org so we know it’s on the way.
  

• If our chapter hosts an event for Founders’ Day, how can we maximize our gifts through the Founders’ Day Challenge?

  You can send emails inviting other Deltasigs, friends and family to participate, share your page on social media, create events and activities and more! If you host an in-person event and collect cash or checks on site, contact foundation@dsp.org for assistance in getting those gifts counted and processed. 

• Are my donations tax-deductable?

  Yes! Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation is a 501(c)3 and donations are tax-deductible, as allowed by law. This includes donations to Chapter Leadership Funds (CLFs), Deltasig Fund and other endowments. Gifts made directly to a chapter are not tax-deductible.

• What's NEW with the Founders' Day Challenge this year?

  We’ve made the Founders’ Day Challenge simpler, more flexible and more fun! This year, there’s no registration or team sign-up required. You just encourage your chapter and members to participate, fundraise and celebrate Delta Sigma Pi. We’ve also added new ways to get involved, including the Founders’ Four Challenge, social media challenges and new chapter incentives. • What are some incentives to encourage collegiate chapters to participate and grow their CLFs?

  There are plenty of ways to make the Founders’ Day Challenge fun and rewarding! Chapters can compete for fundraising dollars, earn recognition, participate in social media challenges and compete for special prizes throughout the Challenge. Most importantly, every dollar raised for your Chapter Leadership Fund helps support your chapter’s future - so rally your members, get creative and see what your chapter can accomplish!
