Hamilton Joes Win Leadership Foundation $500

Jun 09, 2021 – Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation had an opportunity to be the featured nonprofit of the game for a Hamilton Joes baseball game.

Community Development Professionals (CDP) sponsored the K Zone at Hamilton Joes home games and if 11 or more strikeouts were reached in a single game by the Hamilton Joes pitchers, $500 was awarded to the nonprofit of the game. And the Hamilton Joes pulled it off for the Leadership Foundation on June 5!

The Hamilton Joes are a wooden bat collegiate baseball summer league with home games played at Foundation Field (very fitting name!) in Hamilton, Ohio, a neighboring city to home of our national headquarters in Oxford. The Joes had 11 strikeouts against Richmond Jazz, leading them to victory with a final score of 11 to 3, and earning our Foundation $500.

Delta Sigma Pi invited staff and local alumni members to the game to cheer on the Joes and represent Delta Sigma Pi. Cincinnati Alumni Chapter members Jim and Gayle Gerhardt and Mary Miracle attended the game with Central Office staffers Bill Schilling, Brittany Kyger, Tyler Havens, Marissa Smith, Teresa Hatfield and newest Deltasig staffer, Sara Erl.

Community Development Professionals was founded with a passion to see communities across the United States and around the world thrive. Their vision is accomplished by a team of professionals committed to meeting the mission of partnering with community organizations to grow and nurture viable communities.

Thank you to CDP for the opportunity and thank you to Hamilton Joes for the extra effort!
