Staff Member Tyler Havens Initiated

Nov 20, 2019 – Associate Director of Chapter Services Tyler Havens was initiated November 9 by the Chicago Alumni Chapter.

Brother Havens has worked for the Fraternity in a brand new position, Associate Director of Chapter Services, since May. This role was added to the Central Office staff structure to grow and provide unwavering support, proceeding in the vision of Deltasig's Strategic Priorities. Havens oversees chapter discipline and assistance, management of the Educational and Leadership Consultant program, and along with the consultants, the management of Hub/CMP support.

Tyler has a B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education from State University of New York (SUNY) College at Fredonia, and received a M.S. in College Student Personnel (Higher Ed Administration) from Western Illinois University. He has been a tremendous asset since his start on staff, visiting already more than 10 campuses and attending five events.

The initiation took place at the Marriott in Downers Grove, Illinois and was followed by the Chicago Alumni Chapter Founders' Day Celebration.

"It has been an incredible journey meeting and creating relationships with many individuals who serve the Fraternity," says Havens. "Having familiarity with the organization since graduate school made the transition from working primarily with social organizations easier. Delta Sigma Pi is ever-evolving and this is an exciting time to be a staff member and now a brother of the organization. It has been a privilege to work with and for the individuals who dedicate their personal time to advance the Fraternity and for them to deem me worthy of membership is truly an honor. Thank you to those who were there in person and in spirit for your unwavering support!"

Close friend of Havens, Meagan Hagerty, said, "I've known Tyler for 15 years and have always been impressed by his dedication to professionalism. When he told me he was applying for a job at Delta Sigma Pi, I was thrilled! Everything he does is from a 'students first' perspective. He is always focused on what is going to benefit the members of the organization he is working for, even if that means more time or energy from him. It has been my privilege to call him my friend and colleague for the last 15 years and now I am honored to call him my brother."

Welcome, Tyler, and thank you for your service to Delta Sigma Pi!
