Big Smiles at Little's Lake: Two Chapters Make a Difference

Dec 19, 2017 – On Make A Difference Day, Siena (NY) and Albany (NY) teamed up, laced their sneakers and hiking boots and got to work!

The group volunteered at Little's Lake, located at the Weare C. Little Memorial Park, a 25-acre area that provides a space for the study and enjoyment of the natural world and allows visitors to boat, fish and ice skate.

Siena College, Albany
Brothers gathered at the park at 10 a.m. and enjoyed breakfast before learning about the park and receiving their assignments for the day!

The chapters were split into small groups, where they divided and conquered for a full day of giving back! Groups raked leaves, piled sticks, swept boardwalks, collected and disposed of invasive species plaguing some of the park and more.

In a news article on its website, the park praised the chapters for their hard work and dedication: "Smiles were had by all after two and a half hours of intensive work that made a huge difference. Our wonderful volunteers received memberships from Little's Lake so they can come back and enjoy the spoils of their labor! Thank you Delta Sigma Pi for your service to W.C. Little Memorial Park, you have shown us how #dspserves."
