Deltasigs Make A Difference: Christmas Comes Early at Santa Claus, Inc.

Nov 01, 2017 – On the fourth Saturday of October, millions of people unite to improve the lives of others on Make A Difference Day (MDDAY).

As a service initiative near and dear to the Fraternity, hundreds of Deltasigs participate in their communities, one of the largest gatherings occurs in southern California.

Nearly 170 brothers, pledges and guests from the following chapters volunteered at Santa Claus, Inc.: San Diego, San Diego State, California-San Diego, Cal State-Fullerton, California-Riverside, Redlands, California-Irvine, Chapman, Concordia, La Verne, the colony at Cal Poly-Pomona and alumni from Orange County, Los Angeles, Long Beach and Inland Empire. Since 2003, southern California Deltasigs have been working with this organization and represented the majority of participants at their MDDAY event.

Santa Claus, Inc. has been aiding families since 1952, and operates year-round to provide essential needs for more than 100,000 children annually. Activities performed during MDDAY included inventorying clothes and shoes, organizing books, assembling candy poppers, entering clerical data, making bookmarks and performing ground maintenance. Deltasigs also donated funds for the purchase of fleece, which was used to make tie blankets to give to those in need.
