The PFA Outstanding Organizational Impact Award recognizes innovative and effective programs, initiatives, and
strategies that have made a meaningful difference to organization's stakeholders. This is the first year the Organizational Impact Award has been presented.
In 2019, the Delta Sigma Pi Board of Directors launched an initiative to overhaul two foundational programs: the Pledge Education Program and the Individual Discipline Policy. These efforts were aimed at improving member retention, enhancing the overall
quality of membership, and aligning practices with modern standards of fairness, inclusion, and accountability.
The redesigned Pledge Education Program, fully implemented in the 2020-21 academic year, replaced
inconsistent chapter-specific approaches with a consistent and multi-approach model, and the results speak volumes: pledge retention rose from 89.2% in 2019–20 to 95.3% in 2023–24— the highest rate in recent history. The updated
Pledge Education Program pairs nicely with the Individual Discipline Policy (IDP). In the IDP, terminology was updated
to match institutional language, the Executive Committee and Chapter Trials were replaced with a Standards Committee and Hearing Panel structure, an updated process flow to expedite the process, and updated alumni volunteer roles.
The changes to the Pledge Education Program and Individual Discipline Policy have improved retention and created a more empowering, and impactful experience for all members, which is further recognized by PFA’s Impact Award. Learn more about Deltasig’s recognition here
