New York Chapters Support St. Jude

Dec 04, 2019 – Brothers from the Zeta Psi Chapter at Albany (NY) joined forces with three local chapters to participate in a nearby St. Jude Walk fundraiser.

The St. Jude Walk/Run is an event that takes place across the nation to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Before the walk, local radio station hosts shared stories of families who have benefited from St. Jude, showing just how much of an impact events such as that can make. Each brother in attendance made a donation to the cause, receiving a bracelet with the name of a child who would be benefitting from their generosity.

Zeta Psi VPCS Michaela Schramm first heard about the event from 2018 National COY Travis Brodbeck, who reached out to local chapters who had previously participated in the walk, aiming to coordinate a team of brothers to participate again. Other Deltasig chapters in attendance included Kappa Lambda (Binghamton), Theta Upsilon (Siena) and the Albany Upstate New York Alumni Chapter.

According to Michaela, "The most rewarding part of the event was seeing all of the support St. Jude was getting from so many people in and out of the area. Some people who came to the event traveled far to show their support and see how much people cared and wanted to contribute."
