In January, Amber was honored with the award for her work in community service and leadership on campus. The award 
symbolizes the values that Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for—leadership, service, and a commitment to community.
Honorees are nominated by professors and then selected from a pool of candidates not just for their individual achievement, but for the effort and impact they’ve had on others.
Amber’s work on campus includes working to provide meals to families at the Ronald McDonald House through her work with Rho Psi Chapter. Additionally, she mentors local youth through the Education Foundation and organizes food and clothing drives
in her community.
Brother Baylis sees this award as even more motivation to create positive change. “Being honored with this recognition was a deeply humbling experience. It was a moment of reflection on the journey that led to this point—the challenges
overcome, the growth experienced, and the contributions made. It felt incredibly affirming to receive such an honor, reinforcing my commitment to leadership and service.”
Her goal is to make a tangible difference in her community and is thankful for the service opportunities she’s had through Delta Sigma Pi. “My experience with Delta Sigma Pi has been transformative, offering countless opportunities for
growth, leadership, and connection. Since joining Deltasig, I have met so many wonderful brothers nationwide, experienced personal and professional growth, enriching networking experiences, and many lessons for career readiness. This achievement
was a testament to the power of teamwork, vision, and perseverance.”
Brother Baylis was presented with the award at a ceremony with South Florida-St. Petersburg and said “Being recognized in front of peers, mentors, and the community was an incredibly proud moment… To me, this award is a reminder of the
responsibility to continue advocating for positive change and serving as a leader who inspires others.”
Amber serves on Delta Sigma Pi’s National Collegiate Advisory Committee and the Chapter Standards Committee as well as senior vice president for Rho Psi Chapter. She also interns for the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, where she works
with the chief operating officer to manage the finances and communications. Additionally, Amber is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is majoring in global business with a concentration in management and a minor in
finance and aspires to manage her own restaurants.
