Petition for Charter from Clark Atlanta Startup Group Approved

Apr 10, 2024 – The Clark Atlanta Startup Group recently submitted a petition for Board approval.

The Board of Directors has approved the chartering petition of the Clark Atlanta Startup Group at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA to become Omega Pi, the 308th chapter of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Clark Atlanta Startup Group began their journey in the spring of 2022 when student Sasha Edwards (now Startup Group President) was inspired by a Delta Sigma Pi table at the Clark Atlanta University Business School event. Since their start on campus, the students have engaged in community service activities, hosted professional events with speakers and participated in Delta Sigma Pi alumni events with Atlanta Alumni Chapter.

The chartering group includes 37 individuals with varying backgrounds, identities, interests, and experiences. In addition to Delta Sigma Pi volunteers and staff, the Clark Atlanta Startup Group has significant support from university staff as well as help from the chapters at Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University.

Startup Group Advisor Professor Danaita King said, “The passion and enthusiasm exhibited by the members of the Clark Atlanta Startup Group underscores their potential to embody the values and principles upheld by Delta Sigma Pi. I am confident their inclusion within the Fraternity will not only enhance the reputation of Delta Sigma Pi but will also bring about positive changes and contributions to our university community.”

You can help ensure the soon-to-be chapter is equipped with the financial resources needed to succeed. Gifts to the Omega Pi Chapter Leadership Fund will directly assist collegiate members in attending the Fraternity's educational and leadership development programs. Click here to make a gift today.
