Alpha Xi at Virginia to be Reactivated

Mar 20, 2022 – The Alpha Xi Chapter at the University of Virginia petition was recently approved by the Board.

The reactivation is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022

The Virginia group began August 29, 2021 with a collegiate brother who transferred there from Southern Methodist (TX). She and a friend subsequently found two other collegiate brothers there who had also transferred from their initiate chapters, Clemson (SC) and Rutgers-New Brunswick (NJ). They quickly recruited nearly 20 students who became the core of the new group and within two months they had more than 30 students and a calendar of events in process.  The group is now planning to initiate 50 new brothers. Their Faculty Advisor is also a brother who was a charter member at Howard (DC).

The Alpha Xi Chapter was originally chartered on October 24, 1925 and initiated 535 men before it closed in 1947.

Please check back at dsp.org/news in the coming weeks for reactivation details and more. Anyone interested in attending should notify Dale Clark, Senior Director of Membership Growth & Expansion, at dale@dsp.org or 513-523-1907 ext. 232. Members are also encouraged to send cards or letters of congratulations to the Central Office (330 S. Campus Ave., Oxford, OH 45056), to the attention of Dale Clark, so they can be shared with the new members at their reactivation.

You can help ensure the soon-to-be Alpha Xi Chapter is equipped with the financial resources needed to succeed. Gifts to the Alpha Xi Chapter Leadership Fund will directly assist collegiate brothers in attending the Fraternity's educational and leadership development programs. Click here to make a gift today.
