Negotiating for a starting salary is very difficult and often the most stressful aspect of finding a new job. The balance between the stress of needing the job and the art of negotiating the starting salary is often the balancing act. In addition to salary, you should also negotiate/evaluate the total package. The total package could include health care benefits, vacation/flextime, bonus/review opportunities and training/tuition reimbursement just to name a few. This program will walk you through the entire negotiation perspective and explore:

  • How the recruiter, interviewer, or hiring manager has the advantage
  • The critical importance of market research
  • Tactical strategies to navigate the conversation and options to consider
About the Presenter:

Tim has been a Professor at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and is a contributing writer for Inc. Magazine, Fast Company and Monster.com on topics pertaining to marketing/people strategies of successful organizations.
