A. Officer Management and Training
1. Officer Roles
Operational management of a chapter is a tall task, and it takes many individuals to ensure all responsibilities are being fulfilled. One person cannot do it all. Each officer role should have a dedicated individual to meet the needs of a chapter.

2. Officer Verification
Having an accurate officer roster is essential, as it is the only way the Central Office staff and volunteer leaders can effectively communicate with chapter leaders. Any officer change (or change to any contact information for any officer) must be reported to the Central Office immediately after such change via the Hub Officer Module. This includes name, address, phone and email.

1. Roster Verification
It is important the chapter make changes to their roster within the Hub anytime there are changes to a member’s status or contact information (including address, phone, or email). An up-to-date roster also ensures invoices, based on chapter size, are accurate.

2. Ideal Chapter Size
Having a chapter that is representative of the business school is a key to success and sustainability. Delta Sigma Pi expects chapters to conduct recruitment and a pledge education program each term to ensure the sustainability of the chapter. The size of a successful chapter is at least twenty (20) members or approximately 2% of the business school enrollment, whichever is higher.

3. Member Retention
Continual membership as well as transition of information and experience help chapter thrive. While members should always be held accountable for their actions, in many instances there is an underlying issue that may be able to resolve so the individual may continue to enjoy the value membership in Delta Sigma Pi provides.

C. Recruitment and Pledge Education
1. Social Media/Website Verification
Having an active social media presence or updated information on the chapter website is a way for chapters to promote themselves as well as keep members, their campus community, and local alumni and collegiate chapters abreast of chapter activities, upcoming events and officer contact information.

2. Recruitment to Pledging
Basic information (name, preferred email, and preferred phone) for each potential pledge must be submitted prior to the pledging ceremony via the “Members” section in the Hub. Each potential pledge will then receive an email asking them to complete their own membership application, including selecting their specific major from the chapter’s list of qualified programs, before the pledging ceremony. The chapter then must report who pledged within two (2) days following the Pledging Ceremony.

3. Pledging and Initiation
Each new initiate (collegiate, faculty, and honorary) must receive an official badge, leased by the chapter, from the National Fraternity.
Chapters are required to report all initiates following each initiation ceremony. Using the Members section of the Hub, the chapter is to verify the name of each applicant who has been approved for initiation, and report their status (initiated, voluntarily withdrew, removed by chapter vote, to be initiated at later date). This is required for initiates to be recognized as members of Delta Sigma Pi

A well performed ceremony not only makes a favorable and lasting impression, but also serves to instill a greater appreciation of the true significance of the objectives and purposes of the Fraternity.

The Pledge Education Plan, the “operation plan” for the VP-Pledge Education outlines the dates, times, and locations of pledge education activities including initiation. This also reserves the regalia trunk for the chapter’s Initiation Ceremony. Submitters should be aware these plans are reviewed by Central Office staff for policy compliance and trunk available. Should a trunk not be available on the date initially submitted, a chapter may be asked to adjust their plan.

A Standards Committee is required to be chaired by the chapter Chancellor and have at least three (3) additional members. All members of the chapter Standards Committee must have completed the online overview found at dsp.org/lms.
