Presidents' Academy

LEAD with Tricia and Chad
Presidents' Academy is a national professional development program available to chapter presidents. This program will complement, not replace, other Delta Sigma Pi training vehicles. It is designed to equip collegiate chapter presidents to develop their leadership potential in a way that has immediate benefits to them personally, the chapters they lead, and the Fraternity as a whole.

The Academy provides attendees the opportunity to network with other chapter presidents while receiving specialized leadership training. The program will cover:
  • Managing peers
  • Building and motivating teams
  • Working with different personality styles and behaviors
  • Crafting strategic plans and goals
  • Navigating difficult conversations and conflict
  • Effectively running a chapter
  • Dining etiquette
  • Birkman Method assessment

Content will center on assessing and developing strengths, coaching others, leading through ambiguity, and values-based leadership.  Enhancing these skills will lead to stronger chapters.

The Fraternity Board's desire is to minimize barriers to participate by making it as inexpensive as possible for chapters to participate. For the first event in 2019, all registration fees, lodging expenses, reasonable travel and food during the event will be paid for by the national Fraternity and Leadership Foundation. Chapters should seek to budget approximately $100 to help with additional expenses for the president’s attendance including meals during travel, baggage fees, additional transportation and parking fees.
