Foundation Board Minutes in Seconds

Apr 11, 2020 – The Leadership Foundation Board of Trustees hosted its Mid-Year Meeting on March 21 via video conference.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place in Saint Louis, MO, and was shifted due to the COVID-19 global health emergency. Read the Minutes in Seconds for a quick summary of the meeting.

  • Reviewed actions, policies and contingencies related to Foundation operations during the COVID-19 health emergency.
  • Created the Architect Level as an additional lifetime giving recognition level for total donations of $1,000 - $4,999.
  • Established a Stewardship Committee to conduct additional stewardship and recognition activities.
  • Approved recording the Scholarship Payable as $10,000 on the Balance Sheet and add a footnote that records the total outstanding scholarship dollars as a long-term liability.
  • Elected Shawn Gregory as a Trustee, effective at the start of the 2020 Annual Meeting (September). 
  • Received an investment report from Aaron Berger, Vice President & Wealth Management Advisor at Merill Lynch. 
Actions taken via conference call since the Annual Meeting on August 13 in Atlanta: 

  • Amended Policy I.J.7. to move the submission date for scholarship applications from June 15 to June 1. 
  • Allocated the Bater Estate Gift ($75,071.74) to the Beta Nu (University of Pennsylvania) Chapter Leadership Fund.
  •  Adopted a required resolution to register the Foundation in the states of Minnesota and Washington in order to solicit charitable gifts.
  • Accepted the 2018-19 Audit of the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation, as prepared by Stephenson and Warner, Inc. 
  • Designated the $25,000 gift from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to the Presidents' Academy Fund to support the next three Presidents' Academies.
