California Chapters Visit Enterprise Holdings

Nov 01, 2019 – Eta Chi at Cal Poly-Pomona took advantage of Deltasig's partnership with Enterprise Holdings to host a special event.

On October 11, brothers from Eta Chi (Cal Poly-Pomona), Delta Sigma (Loyola-Marymount (CA)) and Lambda Sigma (Cal State-Fullerton) visited Enterprise Holdings, Southern California Headquarters. The event came together when Shreya Pandey, VPPA at Eta Chi, was looking for a new professional event opportunity and reached out to Enterprise.

Discussions between Pandey and Enterprise led the event to grow from a speaker on campus, to a half-day company workshop and tour held at the Southern California Headquarters. Because of this unique opportunity, Eta Chi and Enterprise decided to open up the invitation to all chapters in the SoCal area.

"It was a great opportunity to meet future business leaders!" -- Deborah Meredith, Talent Acquisition Manager

Brothers and pledges were greeted with goodie bags upon arrival at Enterprise. The event began with attendees learning about Enterprise's history and various internship and employment opportunities. Enterprise speakers included Tracy Simmons, Regional Vice President in the Inland Empire, and Josh Weiss, Group Controller for Southern California.

"I really admire how Enterprise values and prioritizes charity work in their company. I also enjoyed seeing how the employees were so professional while still keeping a fun and lighthearted atmosphere."  --Andrea Saavedra, Cal Poly-Pomona pledge

Next, attendees were led on a tour of headquarters by members of Enterprise's Talent Acquisition team. During the tour, brothers and pledges were able to visit all floors and learn the purpose each serves.

"The tour at Enterprise's Southern California office was not only a great way to learn about the company and its industry, but also an amazing opportunity to network with brothers from other chapters in the area." --David Gutierrez, Loyola-Marymount (CA)

After the office tours, the over 30 attendees were split into six different groups to do breakout sessions. The breakout sessions facilitated conversations between different chapters to discuss goals and concerns and work together to find solutions. Enterprise also provided lunch to all attendees to wrap up the day.

"Such an enthusiastic group of students, exactly like the Management Trainees I like to train." --Kevin Hill, Talent Development Manager

"Our corporate partnership with Delta Sigma Pi has given us the opportunity to give back to our community and our local schools that we hire directly from for Southern California. We were so impressed with the students that came to the open house and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them!" --Kim Martin, Talent Acquisition Manager

Thanks to this experience with Enterprise, brothers and pledges were able to learn more in depth about the company, how they give back to their community and network with other chapters to develop themselves as leaders.
