Adelphi (NY) Makes Strides for Ronald McDonald House Charities

Jun 13, 2019 – Kappa Rho made strides for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Long Island.

One of the chapter's main goals this year was to give back. They accomplished this by volunteering their time at RMHC making brunch and dinner for the residents.

Brothers also raised money through a philanthropy week, consisting of three days of service concluded by a gala. The first day, the chapter held a fundraiser, with the goal of reaching a certain level and having one of the members dress like Ronald McDonald. The second day, brothers set up an awareness table inviting guests to decorate a clown shoe to be hung up at the gala as decoration and to promote the event. The final day consisted of a bake sale and the Red Tie Gala, which offered food, dancing, photo ops, a performance from the on campus acapella group and speakers.

In total, this special event raised more than $2,800 that was donated to the chapter's local Ronald McDonald House. According to chapter member James Eckersall, "Our chapter is so proud of this accomplishment and is thankful for all the people that took part in making this happen."
