Wisconsin-Milwaukee wins Most Improved Collegiate Chapter

Oct 16, 2019 – Congratulations to the Xi Chi Chapter!

The Most Improved Collegiate Chapter Award is presented on an annual basis to the collegiate chapter of Delta Sigma Pi that exhibits the greatest degree of improvement in its general operations, professional programs, and membership support as compared to the prior academic year. Deltasig's National Scholastic Development and Awards Committee, led by Tim Beasley, Cal State-Fullerton, selected Xi Chi Chapter from five provincial winners which included the following:
  • Northeastern - George Washington (DC)
  • North Central - Wisconsin-Milwaukee
  • Southern - Tennessee
  • South Central - Kansas
  • Western - Hawaii-Manoa
"Xi Chi has been constantly looking for ways to improve and having them win the national award for most improved chapter is well-deserved," says North Central PVP Cory Stopka. "They have a leadership team on the executive committee that has a clear vision that directly translated to the energy and involvement with all their members. This brotherhood was evident when I visited them along with their District Director Brikken Jensen (now North Central RVP) for initiation and a banquet. They knew how to enjoy each others' success and acknowledged everyone's work that got them to such a high point. This young group of leaders is poised for more success with their empowerment and transition of officer roles to others."

Chapter Senior Vice President Tyler Junk describes the hard work put in by the chapter, stating, "The first initiative we addressed as a Chapter was establishing a goal. Knowing Chapter of Excellence was the desired result, and keeping that in mind throughout the duration of the year, really helped to motivate our brothers to make impactful decisions. The next step was seeking help. Using resources on dsp.org, our District Director, and surrounding chapters was crucial in identifying necessary internal structural changes. The most beneficial event was the Presidents' Academy in January 2019, where we received so many inspiring ideas from chapters all around the country. The third and final step was to act on our initiatives with follow-through. Xi Chi is deserving because we learned how to leverage our resources to gain inspiration, and had the motivation to turn ideas into realities that fir our chapter's size and culture. We're grateful to have been the 2019 recipients of the Most Improved Chapter Award and look forward to making continuous strides toward improvements and growth in the future."
