Deltasigs Receive Helmets at South Central LEAD

Apr 16, 2019 – Join us in celebrating the following Deltasigs who were recognized at the South Central LEAD School in Baton Rouge.

Eduardo Aguirre, Jr., Louisiana State, was presented his Golden Helmet at the South Central LEAD Provincial Conference in Baton Rouge. Brother Aguirre received the Delta Sigma Pi Career Achievement Award in 2000 for his distinguished careers in banking and government, appointed by President George W. Bush as the United States Ambassador to Spain and Andorra starting in 2009. Eduardo is a supporter of the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation and has attended multiple national events, including two Grand Chapter Congresses. He is a principal with Atlantic Partners, an international consulting firm based in Houston, where he lives with his wife Tere.

Jeffrey Berlat
, Houston, was presented his Silver Helmet at the South Central LEAD Provincial Conference in Baton Rouge. Jeff has served the Fraternity in numerous ways over his time as a brother, most prominently through dedication to the Foundation and passion for scholarships. He is a Trustee Emeritus, serving as a Foundation Trustee from 2007 until 2011. He has also served on many Foundation Committees including the Investment Subcommittee, GCC Planning Team, Fraternity Events, Finance and Grant Committee. Jeff has been a leader in the Space City Houston Alumni Chapter serving as President, Vice President and currently as VP-Finance. He has also served as District Director, a National Professional Development Committee Member and as South Central Provincial Alumni Development Committee Chair. Jeff has attended nearly 70 national events and every Grand Chapter Congress since 1997. He continually engages alumni in the Houston area encouraging them to be involved on different levels. James Deaton II
, Oklahoma, was presented his Silver Helmet at the South Central LEAD Provincial Conference in Baton Rouge. Jim is a legacy member - his father and uncle are both brothers. He is an involved member of the Oklahoma City Tornado Alley Alumni Chapter, having served as President, VP-Finance and currently serving as VP-Chapter Operations. Under Jim's leadership, the chapter has won several awards and has been recognized as silver and gold status multiple times. Jim has also been a member of the Tornado Alley Regional Awards committee and currently serves as the chair. He has attended a number of Fraternity events including three Grand Chapter Congresses and is a supporter of the Leadership Foundation. Professionally, he is the Corporate Controller at Braum's. Jim lives in Norman, Oklahoma with his wife and two daughters, the oldest, McKinzie, was initiated in 2017.

Gerald "Jerry" Hotwagner
, Oklahoma State, was presented his Silver Helmet at the South Central LEAD Provincial Conference in Baton Rouge. Jerry served as District Director to Gamma Epsilon at Oklahoma State and Sigma Chi at Cameron (OK) where he also served as Pledge Educator during their pledge process. He has also served as interim South Central Provincial Vice President in 2012. Brother Hotwagner is a Trustee Emeritus, serving as a Leadership Foundation Trustee from 2011. He has served on a number of Foundation committees including the Investment Subcommittee, Gifts and Solicitations, Finance and Scholarship Guidelines. He has been a long time member of both the Oklahoma City Tornado Alley Alumni Chapter and the Tulsa Green County Alumni Chapter, serving in a variety of officer positions for both, including as President. Jerry has attended nearly 50 national events, including six Grand Chapter Congresses, and is a supporter of the Leadership Foundation, reaching Benefactor Level of giving for donating over $25,000 during his lifetime. Professionally, Jerry is the Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer of Biotech, Inc. He lives in Mustang, Oklahoma with his wife Amy, and their two sons, who frequently accompanied him to Fraternity events.

Kelli McNulty
, Baylor (TX), was presented her Silver Helmet at the South Central LEAD Provincial Conference in Baton Rouge. Immediately upon graduation, Kelli was appointed as District Director to Delta Epsilon at North Texas. After also being District Director for Beta Iota at Baylor (TX) she served as Regional Director for the Southwestern Region. After resigning due to job relocation to Washington, D.C. she was elected as Regional Director for the MidAmerican Region. Since moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kelli has been active with the Baton Rouge-Red Stick Alumni Chapter, serving in multiple roles including VP-Chapter Operations and VP-Collegiate Relations. Kelli and her husband, Michael McNulty, Louisiana State, have been long-time donors to the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation.
