Internships Available with The Fund for American Studies

Feb 02, 2016 – Make the most of your summer vacation with a scholarship to intern in Washington, D.C. and earn course credit from George Mason University.

As one of Delta Sigma Pi’s longest running partners, The Fund for American Studies provides the ultimate summer experience for driven Deltasigs. While participating in the Fund’s Institute on Business and Government Affairs (IBGA), you’ll have the opportunity to learn about policymaking and leadership in the environment where those skills allow one to flourish. You can put those skills to practice in your internship that is guaranteed with acceptance into the Institute.
IBGA is for students interested in exploring a career in business, lobbying, trade associations or government affairs. In addition to a guaranteed internship placement, students will take a course in economics and have the option to take elective courses with George Mason University (earning between 3-9 credits for the summer). As a Deltasig, exclusive scholarships are available to you from The Fund for American Studies.
Lea Kayton, Nebraska-Lincoln, interned for Ford Motor Co. through the Institute. According to Kayton, her summer in Washington, D.C. was an unforgettable experience that included meeting the CEO of Ford and learning valuable skills such as critical thinking, which helped her secure a job after graduating. Over the course of eight weeks, Kayton made lifelong friends while sightseeing throughout Washington, D.C. and exploring the national museums, including the Smithsonian Museum of American History.

How to Apply
Those that apply by the priority deadline of February 10 receive priority consideration for admission and scholarships. Final applications are due March 16. Delta Sigma Pi members must indicate their Delta Sigma Pi affiliation on application materials to be eligible for the special scholarships.
