CDL Renewals and Program Changes

Oct 29, 2015 – The Certified Deltasig Leader (CDL) designation is awarded to an alumni member of Delta Sigma Pi who has met the requirements for certification. The certification recognizes an individual for their demonstrated leadership training and experience.

Certification is suggested (and certainly helpful), but not required to hold any leadership role. Please go to dsp.org/beacdl or review the Awards and Recognition Guide for complete details of the CDL program.

CDL Renewal Process for 2014/2015 CDLs

Certification for any members who were CDLs prior to November 1 will expire December 31, 2015. To renew your current level of certification, members must complete the following before February 1, 2016:

  • Successfully completed at least two (2) elective Deltasig 101 courses from the Fraternity's E-learning course offerings
  • Participated in or led educational sessions at two Fraternity events in the past two (2) years
  • Supported the Leadership Foundation with a gift during the past 12 months

CDL Changes Effective November 1

As of November 1 to be a CDL, an alumni member must successfully complete eleven E-learning presentations and their respective quizzes noted as “Core Leadership Training” within a three month period. Event participation and Leadership Foundation support are no longer required for Tier 1 certification.

To qualify for Advanced Certification (also known as CDL Tier 2), an alumni member must also have participated in or led educational sessions at two Fraternity events in the past five years, complete four E-learning presentations and their respective quizzes noted as “Advanced Training”, and supported the Leadership Foundation with a gift in the last 12 months.

Certifications are now effective for up to a two-year term based on the completion date of the original certification.

CDL Renewal Process for New CDLs

Members who originally certify after November 1, 2015 must complete any courses from the “Core Leadership Training” that were added or updated since initial certification. They must also complete at least two elective Deltasig 101 courses from the E-learning offerings to renew at a CDL Tier 1 certification.  To renew or upgrade to a CDL Tier 2 certification, a member must also have participated in or led educational sessions at two Fraternity events in the past two years and supported the Leadership Foundation with a gift during the past year.
