Barry Salzberg Named National Honorary Initiate

May 20, 2015 – Barry Salzberg, Global CEO of Deloitte, will be initiated during GCC on August 13!
Barry Salzberg became the Global CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in June 2011. He leads and manages the executive committee and sets the strategic direction of the Deloitte global network, which comprises 47 member firms operating in 150 countries, with approximately 200,000 people worldwide. Salzberg is a member of the DTTL Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Prior to this role, Salzberg served as chief executive officer of Deloitte LLP (United States), and as the U.S. managing partner. Salzberg joined the Deloitte organization in 1977 and was admitted as partner of the Deloitte U.S. member firm in 1985.
In his earlier career, Salzberg was a lead client service partner and tax partner of the Deloitte U.S. member firm. In this role, he directly served the chief executive officers of many large clients, helping them with their personal tax and financial planning needs, as well as partnerships and corporations, mostly law firms or merger and acquisition specialists.

Salzberg is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He is a member of business organizations such as the Japan Society, BritishAmerican Business International Advisory Board, United States Council for International Business, and is a board member of New Profit, Inc. Salzberg also serves as chairman of the Board of College Summit. He is a regular contributor to the LinkedIn Influencers blog, writing about topics such as leadership, career development, and education.

Salzberg received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brooklyn College, his master of laws in taxation from New York University School of Law, and his juris doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Georgetown University and a juris doctor honoris causa from Brooklyn Law School.
