Celebrate International Badge Day

Mar 02, 2015 – Golden Council member Kevin Weber uncovers some mysteries about our badge.

After visiting the Central Office, Golden Council member Kevin Weber was intrigued by the history of our Fraternity. He wanted to learn more about what binds us to our past and what gives us a path for our future. To Kevin, the historical items found throughout the Central Office were more than dust collectors; they were storytellers waiting to be discovered.

Kevin’s wonder grew as he started to purchase badges through online auctions. Many older badges were engraved on the back with the member’s initials, their Greek chapter name and/or their initiation number allowing him to find the owner of the original badge and the time period the badge was created.  He noticed how the stones changed throughout the years from natural to synthetic and how the wreath around the outside changed. Learn more about Kevin’s observations and discoveries in the future article of The DELTASIG. In the meantime, think of the history you will be leaving behind when your badge gets passed on to future generations.
