Community Service:
The Southern Province is spicing things up for community service efforts this fall with Pie Wars! Participate for the chance to help your chapter and/or region win while helping the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.
How it works: Bring pop tabs, wish list items or monetary donations to the Community Service table between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. A point system will be used to decide who the winning chapter and region are!
The Point System:
- Tabs – 1 oz of pop tabs = 50 points
- Wish List Items – 1 item = 250 points (average cost of $2.50 per item)
- Monetary donations – 1 Penny = one point ($20 would get you 2,000 points!)
Prizes: The chapter with the highest number of points will win $50/pizza party and the region with the highest number of points will get their RVP pied!
All donations will be given to the
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama. The RMHC Alabama provides temporary housing for sick children and their families. The House can provide housing for up to 73 families per night. In 2017, the House provided approximately 888 guest stays bringing the total stays since 1979 up to an estimated 39,000.
