Prior to joining the Central Office, he had a nine-year career with the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, the last four as their Foundation's executive director. In addition to his service as the executive director, Wash also served as the editor-in-chief of the Laurel, Phi Kappa Tau’s magazine.

Tyler is originally from Danville, Kentucky (south of Lexington). He now lives in Oxford, Ohio with his wife Kellsey who works for Republic Airlines, a regional carrier for Delta and American. Her days as a flight attendant started after tenures with Miami University and Delta Sigma Pi as a communications coordinator. In his free time, Tyler enjoys golfing and yardwork. He and Kellsey also loves to travel and watch sporting events, mainly the University of Kentucky Wildcats, The Ohio State University Buckeyes or the Miami University RedHawks.
