ages. Our speaker\, Susan Plassmeyer\, has worked with or for mission-base
d organizations including government\, a non-profit startup and large inst
itutions. Susan will provide a brief overview and then open it up to your
questions.\n\nAbout the Presenter:\nSusan Plassmeyer is the Associate Vice
Chancellor for Advancement Services and Administration in University Adva
ncement at Washington University in St. Louis.  \;Plassmeyer&rsquo\;s
primary areas of responsibility include gift processing and advancement te
chnology\, including a five-year project to replace aging technology\, as
well as oversight for Advancement&rsquo\;s financial administration\, huma
n resources\, and training. \; In fiscal year 2020\, Washington Univer
sity raised $304.4 million from individuals and organizations. \; Plas
smeyer also teaches the financial management course in University College&
rsquo\;s Non-Profit Management Program. Plassmeyer joined WashU.\nPrevious
ly\, Plassmeyer served as the Executive Vice President for the Chicago Tra
nsit Authority and led the CTA&rsquo\;s construction and engineering proje
cts\, including a capital budget of $1.2 billion and annual operating budg
et of $130 million. \; She has also served on the staff of the Univers
ity of Chicago and was one of the first employees at the non-profit The En
vironmental Law and Policy Center of the Midwest where she had responsibil
ity for financial operations\, grant writing and marketing. \; \;
Plassmeyer started her career in banking at the First National Bank of Chi
cago (now JPMorgan Chase).\nDelta Sigma Pi has been instrumental in Plassm
eyer&rsquo\;s career accomplishments and interest in service to others as
well as providing the joy of long friendships with her brothers. \; Sh
e was initiated into the Iota Nu chapter at Truman State University (Misso
uri) and served as Vice President for Professional Activities and as Presi
dent in 1985-86. \; For that school year\, Iota Nu was honored with th
e second of its now eleven awards as Most Outstanding Chapter in the Natio
n. \; Plassmeyer was named as the 1986 Collegian of the Year and serve
d for two years on the Delta Sigma Pi Board of Directors. \; She was a
warded the Silver Helmet in 2013.\nPlassmeyer has been a board member and
volunteer with numerous non-profit organizations in Chicago and St. Louis.
 \; Currently\, she serves on the board of the Scholarship Foundation
of St. Louis\, a St. Louis-based organization that provides grants and no-
interest loans to qualified college students. \; In 2012\, Missouri Go
vernor Jay Nixon appointed her to a six-year term on the Truman State Univ
ersity Board of Governors. \; Plassmeyer served as Truman&rsquo\;s Boa
rd Chair in 2014. She was selected as a member of the 2007-08 class of Lea
dership St. Louis. \;\nPlassmeyer earned a Master&rsquo\;s in Business
Administration from the University of Chicago. \; She also earned bac
helor&rsquo\;s degrees in economics and business administration from Truma
n State University. \; She is a native of Osage County\, Missouri\, wh
ere she grew up on the family farm. \; Plassmeyer now resides in Unive
